Judgment Executed (Rev. 14:19-20)

SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR
09/04/2005

My Worship Time                  Focus:  Judgment Executed

Bible Reading & Meditation             Reference:  Revelations 14:19-20

            Message of the verse:  “19  So the angel swung his sickle on the earth and loaded the grapes into the great winepress of God’s wrath.  20  And the grapes were trodden in the winepress outside the city, and blood flowed from the winepress in a stream about 180 miles long and as high as a horse’s bridle.”
            As said before this judgment my describing what will happen at the end of the tribulation period when antichrist will be fighting in the last battle against some of his foes, which will be described latter on, and when these two enemies see the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ with His army from heaven they will begin fighting against them and as a result of this battle there will be much blood shed.
            Some others have placed this at the time just after Christ returns to planet earth and begin judging the sheep and the goats.  There are also some to take the part of having blood flow 180 miles up to the horses bridle as literal and some who take this as figurative language.

            Spiritual meaning for my life today:  Again as I have been thinking over these verses concerning judgment, and specifically judgment of the ungodly as these verses are relating to here, I have come to the conclusion that what this world needs, and especially this country, and also the Church in this country is a good dose of the fear of God.  When people do not believe that there is a right and a wrong and that they are not going to be judged for the wrong that they do then they will act in a way that will cause the wrath of God to come upon them.  I cannot speak for God, but I can read His Word and come to some conclusions after reading it, and because of the I believe that it is entirely possible that the hurricane that has dealt such a severe blow to our country could be an act of judgment upon our nation from God Almighty.

The Word of God has brought conviction and challenge to my heart as I read it and studied it this morning.

My Steps of Faith Today:  Fear the Lord, and follow the Lord in all that I do.  Trust the Lord and seek His direction on all that I do.

Memory verses for the week:  Psalm 27:1,2

  1. The Lord is my light and my salvation; who shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
  1. When evildoers assail me to eat up my flesh;
My adversaries and foes, it is they who stumble and fall.
