My
Worship Time Focus: Truthful Accusations
Bible
Reading & Meditation Reference: 1Timothy 5:19
Message of the
verse: 19 “ Do not receive an accusation against an
elder except on the basis of two or three witnesses.” Paul is instructing Timothy to make perfectly
sure any accusations that go against an elder are the truth and not something
just made up. This process is described
by the Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 18:15-20 where it says, “ 15 ¶ "If
your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you,
you have won your brother.
16 "But if he does not listen to you, take
one or two more with you, so that BY THE MOUTH OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES EVERY
FACT MAY BE CONFIRMED.
17 "If he refuses to listen to them, tell it
to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to
you as a Gentile and a tax collector.18"Truly I say to you, whatever you
bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth
shall have been loosed in heaven.19"Again I say to you, that if two of you
agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by
My Father who is in heaven.20"For where two or three have gathered
together in My name, I am there in their midst."
Spiritual meaning for my life
today: I think the important part of
this verse for me today is that I do not sin so that I need not be concerned
about having any rebuke me. Also because
it is difficult for me to confront someone or something then it is important for
me to do so when needed to.
The
Word of God has brought conviction to me today.
My
Steps of Faith Today: God does promise me as a believer to have His
peace in my life. It is difficult for me
to have peace in my life at this time. I
am at unrest over the fact that I do not know what to do about moving or
remolding or nothing. It is hard for me
because I get no support from my wife over this struggle that is going on
inside of me. I need God’s peace to rule
in my life over this situation.
Memory
verses for the week: Romans 5:20,21
Moreover
the law entered that the offense might abound.
But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, so that as sin reigned
in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
