I do not know what happened to the Spiritual Diaries from the Book of Joshua 9:6-15 and so that is the reason for this post. The titles from Dr. Wiersbe's commentary for these two missing posts are "What the Gibeonites said" (Josh. 9:6-13) and "Why They Succeeded" (Josh. 9: 14-15)
This is a rather important portion of Scripture that teaches us as believers to be on the alert and not to believe what people tell us without first praying about doing what we are asked to do. Joshua did not pray and seek the Lord when the Gibeonites came to him with their story of deceit. I can say that the Gibeonites served the people of Israel as they were told to do for a long time, and they even became a blessing to them, but that does not mean that just because it turned out not so bad in the end.
I have to admit that there are times when people do things that are not in the will of God and God will give us grace to get through our sins. God's grace can overcome our sins and that is what happened to Joshua and the Gibeonites.
