SPIRITUAL DIARY

My Worship Time                                                                  Focus:  Hezekiah the victor PT. 2

                                                                                                                           (Provision)

Bible Reading & Meditation                                     Reference:  2Ki. 19:29; Isa. 37:30

Message of the verses:  “29  ’Then this shall be the sign for you: you will eat this year what grows of itself, in the second year what springs from the same, and in the third year sow, reap, plant vineyards, and eat their fruit.”

“30  "Then this shall be the sign for you: you will eat this year what grows of itself, in the second year what springs from the same, and in the third year sow, reap, plant vineyards and eat their fruit.”

“1 ¶  «A Song of Ascents.» When the LORD brought back the captive ones of Zion, We were like those who dream. 2  Then our mouth was filled with laughter And our tongue with joyful shouting; Then they said among the nations, "The LORD has done great things for them." 3  The LORD has done great things for us; We are glad.

“4 ¶  Restore our captivity, O LORD, As the streams in the South. 5  Those who sow in tears shall reap with joyful shouting. 6  He who goes to and fro weeping, carrying his bag of seed, Shall indeed come again with a shout of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.”

In chapter ten of “Be Distinct” Warren Wiersbe wrote in an end note that W. Thirtle taught that the ten “ascent Psalms” that were anonymous could have been written by Hezekiah.  There are still others that believe that Psalm 126  (above)  was written to describe this miracle that is spoken of in Isa. 37:30 and 2Kings 19:29.  This promise was given to Hezekiah as a sign that the Lord would do the miracle of getting rid of the Assyrian army that had taken over most of the southern kingdom of Judah and was not in the process of besieging Jerusalem.

God is the Lord of the harvest and it would have not been any problem for Him to do this miraculous sign that is spoken about in these two verses.

Spiritual meaning for my life today:  I have to say that this has been a phenomenal week for me as far as being feed by the Lord of the Harvest.  I am speaking of the things that I have learned from a part of a book that I have been reading by John MacArthur along with some of sermons that I have been listening too that go along with the book.  It all started when a lady was praying in church last Sunday morning in a group we were in.  Her prayer was asking the Lord that she might “abide in Him” as taught in John 15.  I mentioned to her that I would give her some material on this as in her prayer she ask the Lord that she might abide in Him, but did not know how to do this.

I also listened to a sermon that John MacArthur had on my Facebook page, and that is where I got the idea, (rather God prompted me) to download his book on my Kindle.  The book along with the messages that I listened to had a lot in common and the Lord gave me an object lesson on Wednesday when I began to speak to a security guard at Wal-Mart’s.  We talked for a long time as I ended up giving her my testimony and then at the end of our conversation she told me that I was an answer to her prayers.  Her prayers were that she would have a good shift at Walmarts and she thought that are meeting was of the Lord.  The point in all of this is that abiding in the Lord actually means remaining in the Lord and as a believer concentrates on remaining in the Lord the Lord will produce fruit through the believer.  This is exactly what happened that day.  Yes it has been a great week!

My Steps of Faith for Today:

1.      Abide (remain) in the Lord.

2.      Give myself to the Lord for worship and for service this day.

3.      Continue to learn contentment.     6/18/2011 7:51:50 AM
