My Worship Time Focus: Come Lord Jesus
Bible Reading &
Meditation Reference: Revelation 22:17
Message of the verse: “17. The Spirit and the bride say,
"Come." And let the one who hears say, "Come." And let the
one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without
cost.”
The hope of
all true believer in the Church age is for the Lord Jesus Christ to come again
to earth as He has promised so many times in the New Testament. In this verse the Holy Spirit and also the
bride say “Come.” These are the Spirit’s
and the Churches answer to the promise of the Lord Jesus Christ coming to earth
again.
There are
two invitations in this verse, one of them is for the Lord Jesus Christ to come
back to the earth, and the other is for the people of the earth who are reading
and hearing this letter to come to the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation. The verse speaks of the ones who are thirsty
to come and they will one day drink of the water of life without cost. The lost come to Jesus because they are
thirsty for something that is missing in their life, just as the women at the
well drank of the water of life that Jesus offered her so others over the
century’s have come to that well that has satisfied them, the well of the water
of life.
Spiritual meaning for my life today: The promise of the Lord Jesus Christ
returning to earth is something that was used to call me to believe in Him for
salvation, it is one of the major themes of the entire Bible, which is made
clear in the New Testament, and is my hope as written to Titus by Paul. This promise gives me hope to live out my
life on planet earth each day, because I know that even though it is tough
sometimes here I can look forward to spending eternity with my Lord someday,
hopefully soon, as it seems that the time is right for His coming to get His
bride. Paul writes in the book of
Galatians: “4 But when the fullness of the time came, God
sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, 5 so
that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the
adoption as sons.” Paul is saying that
when the time was right God sent His Son to save us, and Jesus spoke of when
the time was right that He would return to earth, and as I said before it seems
that the time is right for His return so I can repeat what John says at the end
of the book of Revelation, “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”
The Word of God was refreshing to my heart as I read it this
morning.
My Steps of Faith
Today: In the hope that I live in,
the soon return of the Lord Jesus Christ to take me away at the Rapture, I will
continue to trust Him to see me through to the other side of the lake as He did
for His disciples so long ago.
