SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR 05/18/2005
My Worship Time Focus:
Calm before the Storm
Bible Reading &
Meditation Reference: Revelations 7: 1
Message
of the verse: “After this I saw four
angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds
of the earth, so that no wind would blow on the earth or on the sea or on any
tree.”
In chapter seven there are two
people groups described, one of them is the 144,000 Jews, and then we have an
unnumbered group of Gentiles. The
judgments of the last chapter are over for a short time in order for God to
begin the work of evangelizing, and this will begin by these 144,000 Jews.
In verse one of this chapter the
angels are seen as holding back the four winds of the earth, in order for no
wind to blow upon it. There are
different places in Revelations where angles are involved in the events of
nature as they are involved in fire in 14:18 and water in 16:5. I am not sure why this event is taking place,
however I am sure that God has His reasons for it and that is all that I need
to know.
Spiritual
meaning for my life today: I see in
this verse that God is in control of even the nature upon the earth, and that
means the weather in North-East Ohio, and I know that there are far to many
times when I have complaints about the weather here, and that is wrong because
God gives us the weather He wants to for His own reasons, and He can never make
a mistake.
The Word of God has been convicting to my heart as I read it
this morning.
My Steps of Faith
Today: Continue to trust the Lord
with all of things that are going on, including our investment woes, and also
the uncertainty of if and where the next job will be with HRSG.
Memory verses for the week:
Ephesians 6:12, 13
12. For our struggle
is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers,
against the word forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of
wickedness in the heavenly places.
13. Therefore, take up the full
armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having
done everything, to stand firm.
