SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR 05/23/2005
My Worship Time Focus:
Tribulations Saints (Gentiles)
Bible Reading &
Meditation Reference: Revelations 7:9-10
Message of the verse: “9
After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one
could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing
before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm
branches were in their hands; 10 and
they cry out with a loud voice, saying, ‘Salvation to our God who sits on the
throne, and to the Lamb.’”
Verse 9
shifts to talk about the Gentile believers from the tribulation period, and
perhaps some of these have been saved through the preaching of the 144,000 from
the nation of Israel . At any rate we see these in front of the
throne, and Dr. Wiersbe points out that the reason that John did not recognize
them was because they were not from the OT saints or the Church age saints
therefore the 24 elders did not represent them for the 24 elders represent the
Church. These Tribulation Saints have
white robes on which means that they have been washed in the blood of the Lamb,
and they also have palm branches in the hands which means victory. There cry to the Lord is heard in verse 10
and it is praise and glory to both the Father and also to His Son Jesus Christ
who has provided salvation for them, and all who have been saved or every will
be.
Spiritual meaning for my life today: This verse says to me that God will indeed
keep His promises that He has made for He has said in His Word that “Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for
You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and
tongue and people and nation.”
This is part of Revelations 5:9
The Word of God was refreshing to my heart and it was all a
challenge to my heart.
My Steps of Faith
Today: I have been thinking about
getting people to pray while the church service is going on and it is getting
down to the time when this needs to be done and my prayer and my hope in the
Lord is that He will provide the men to began and continue this ministry at
GBC.
Memory verse for the week:
Ephesians 6:13-14
Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will
be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand
firm. Stand firm therefore, having
girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of
righteousness.
