Serving God in Heaven (Rev. 7:15)

SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR 05/27/2005

My Worship Time                                                               Focus:  Serving God in heaven

Bible Reading & Meditation                                     Reference:  Revelations 7:15

Message of the verse:  “15 That is why they are standing in front of the throne of God, serving him day and night in his Temple. And he who sits on the throne will live among them and shelter them.”  (NLT)

These tribulation saints are standing in front of the throne of God in order to serve Him day and night.  These are the ones who have been washed in the blood of the Lamb and have died for their faith in Jesus Christ, giving all that they could give for the cause of Jesus Christ.  God promises them that He will be the One who gives them shelter and live among them for ever more.

Spiritual meaning for my life today:  These are wonderful promises to get hold of, for in them is seen a glimpse of heaven and where all true believers will live after life on this earth is over.  The part about God living with us forever is a wonderful promise and reminds me of when Jesus came to earth and lived among His people.

The Word of God has been a refreshing reminder to me as I read it this morning.

My Steps of Faith Today:  As I go through this test on my colon this morning I do it with a bit of fear in my heart even though I have gone through it before and it all came out good.  I am a bit confused about this fear because I know that the Word of God says “Fear not for I am with you do not be dismayed for I am your God, I will give strength to you and I will help you and I will up hold you with my righteous right hand.”  I must claim this promise this morning.

Memory verses for the week:  Eph 6:13-14

Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.  Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness.
