SPIRITUAL DIARY

My Worship Time                                                      Focus:  God blessed his building projects

Bible Reading & Meditation                                     Reference:  2Chronicles 11:5-12

Message of the verses:  “5 Rehoboam lived in Jerusalem and built cities for defense in Judah. 6 Thus he built Bethlehem, Etam, Tekoa, 7 Beth-zur, Soco, Adullam, 8 Gath, Mareshah, Ziph, 9 Adoraim, Lachish, Azekah, 10  Zorah, Aijalon and Hebron, which are fortified cities in Judah and in Benjamin. 11  He also strengthened the fortresses and put officers in them and stores of food, oil and wine. 12 He put shields and spears in every city and strengthened them greatly. So he held Judah and Benjamin.”

It seems to be clear from these verses that Rehoboam was preparing Judah for the event that they would be attacked by someone from the south, east, or the west.  He was not so much concerned about from the north, or at least that seems to be because he did not strengthened Jerusalem from the North.  He may have figured that Egypt would attack Judah because of Jeroboams relationship with Egypt, and he may have not wanted to provoke the ten tribes to the north by building on the north of Jerusalem.

Spiritual meaning for my life today:  Satan is the enemy of my soul and I need to be prepared for an attack from him and his forces at all times by putting on the spiritual armor each day and by thinking of verses to combat the attack that he lays against me.

My Steps of Faith for Today:

1.      Put on the whole armor of God.

2.      Give myself to the Lord for worship and service.

3.      Trust the Lord to guide my path this day.

4.      Continue to learn contentment.
