SPIRITUAL DIARY
My Worship Time Focus: Obedience
Bible Reading
& Meditation Reference: 1Ki. 9:4-5; 2Chron. 7:17-18
Message of the verses: “4
"As for you, if you will walk before Me as your father David
walked, in integrity of heart and uprightness, doing according to all that I
have commanded you and will keep My statutes and My ordinances, 5 then I will establish the throne of your
kingdom over Israel forever, just as I promised to your father David, saying,
’You shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel.”
17 "As for you, if you walk before Me as
your father David walked, even to do according to all that I have commanded
you, and will keep My statutes and My ordinances, 18 then I will establish your royal throne as I
covenanted with your father David, saying, ’You shall not lack a man to be
ruler in Israel.’”
This
continues the conversation that God had with Solomon and this portion of it is
all about a promise, a promise that God had given to David because David had it
in his heart to build a temple for the Lord, but because David had shed much
blood the Lord told David that his son would build the temple. After David had asked the Lord to build a
temple for His glory the Lord promised David that He would build a dynasty
through David, and this conversation that the Lord is having with Solomon
directly goes along with the promise that the Lord gave to David. The Lord Jesus Christ, a descendent of David
is now sitting on the throne ruling from heaven so that promise was fulfilled
through Jesus Christ.
Spiritual meaning for my life today: God will always keep His promises even when I
think that He is not, for God cannot lie, and I must confess that there are
times when I do not see the Lord working, but I know that He is working
everything out for my good and for His glory, and for this I am thankful.
My Steps of
Faith for today:
1.
Trust the Lord to find the vehicle that He desires
me to have.
2.
Give myself to the Lord for worship and service.
3.
Remember that I am in a battle and in need of
putting on the Spiritual Armor.
4.
Trust the Lord to guide my path.
