Christian Living (Titus 3:2)

SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR 10-30-02

My Worship Time                                                      Focus:  Christian living

Bible Reading & Meditation                                     Reference:  Titus 3:2

Message of the verse:  “2 of no one to speak evil, not to be quarrelsome--gentle, showing all meekness to all men,” (YLT) “They must not speak evil of anyone, and they must avoid quarreling.  Instead, they should be gentle and show true humility to everyone.”  (NLT)

Paul is continuing his thoughts on how Christians should live in this world that he started in verse one.  He says here believers should not speak evil of anyone, and are to avoid quarreling with everyone.  They should be gentle with everyone, “seeming, suitable, equitable, fair, mild,” and they must show meekness to everyone.  Meekness means to have power under control, as Jesus did when He walked on planet earth.

Spiritual meaning for my life:  Some of these statements are very convicting to me as there are times when I have spoken evil of people, people even in the government.  Having a gentle spirit is another thing I need much work on.

The Word of God was very convicting to me today.

My Steps of Faith Today:  Not to have fear, and if I do to use the Spiritual armor to defend against fear.  By God’s grace, I will strive to be gentle to everyone and not to speak evil of anyone.

Memory verse for the week:  Romans 11:33-34:  “Oh, the debt of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!  How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out.

For who has known the mind of the Lord?  Or who has been His counselor?”
