Affirmation from the Lord (Gen. 15:7)

My Worship Time                                                                              Focus:  Affirmation

Bible Reading & Meditation                                     Reference:  Genesis 15:7

            Message of the verse:  “7  And He said to him, ‘I am the LORD who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans, to give you this land to possess it.’”

           

            In this verse God reaffirmed His promise to Abraham, by saying to him that he would give the land to him to possess it. 

           

            This land is a very important part of history, as it is the land that the Lord Jesus Christ came to when He was on planet earth, and it is the land where He died for the sins of the world, and it is the land He will come back to when He returns, and it is also the land where He will rule and reign for 1000 years after His return.

            Spiritual meaning for my life today:  God always keeps the promises He makes, however sometimes it is difficult to wait on them and sometimes it is also hard to understand all of them.  For instance Abraham never owned the land that God had promised to give him except the very small portion he bought in order to burry his dear wife.  However his offspring did take possession of this land and the book of Hebrews says that Abraham was looking to the city whose builder and designer was God, and thus the promise was fulfilled.   Abraham will also be coming back in the 1000 year reign of Christ.

The Word of God has been refreshing to my heart as I read it this morning.

My Steps of Faith Today:  Fight the good fight, and trust the Lord to give me the grace each day that He knows I need, and also to be open to His leading and teaching, and His guidance.  To learn contentment.
