The Eternal God Knows All Things (Ex. 3:17-22)

3/9/2008 11:23 AM

SPIRITUAL DIARY

My Worship Time              Focus:  The Eternal God knows all things

Bible Reading & Meditation               Reference:  Exodus 3:17-22

Message of the verses:  “17  "So I said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanite and the Hittite and the Amorite and the Perizzite and the Hivite and the Jebusite, to a land flowing with milk and honey."’  18  "They will pay heed to what you say; and you with the elders of Israel will come to the king of Egypt and you will say to him, ‘The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. So now, please, let us go a three days’ journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.’  19  "But I know that the king of Egypt will not permit you to go, except under compulsion.  20  "So I will stretch out My hand and strike Egypt with all My miracles which I shall do in the midst of it; and after that he will let you go.  21  "I will grant this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians; and it shall be that when you go, you will not go empty-handed.  22  "But every woman shall ask of her neighbor and the woman who lives in her house, articles of silver and articles of gold, and clothing; and you will put them on your sons and daughters. Thus you will plunder the Egyptians.’”

Now after God tells Moses what His name is and what His name means He then tells Moses what it is He will do, and that is He will cause the Egyptians to allow His people to leave Egypt and not only leave Egypt, but they will leave with spoils, which is probably wages for all of the work they were doing as slaves.  The I AM has spoken to Moses and what He has told Moses will come to past.

Spiritual meaning for my life today:  It is seen from these verses that God is in control of all things and just as He was in control of this situation with Moses He will be in control of all the things that are going on in my life too, and that gives me comfort.

My Steps of Faith for Today:  I trust the Lord to take care of all of the problems that I am facing, to control them in the way He deems best, to bring good to me and to bring honor and glory to Himself.

Memory verses for the week:          2Cor. 12:9-10

9.   And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.”  Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.

10.                        Therefore I am well content with weakness, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake, for when I am weak, then I am strong.
