Noah's Faith is Rewarded (Gen. 8:15-19)

SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR 04/01/2006

My Worship Time                                                             Focus:  Noah’s Faith Rewarded

Bible Reading & Meditation                                     Reference:  Genesis 8:15-19

Message of the verse:  “15 Then God spoke to Noah, saying, 16  ‘Go out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and your sons’ wives with you. 17  ‘Bring out with you every living thing of all flesh that is with you, birds and animals and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, that they may breed abundantly on the earth, and be fruitful and multiply on the earth.’  18 So Noah went out, and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him.  19 Every beast, every creeping thing, and every bird, everything that moves on the earth, went out by their families from the ark.”

This was a great day for Noah and his family, and also for the animals and birds and the creeping things, for this was the day that they were to leave the ark.  It would have been nice to have been their to see the joy on all of their faces as they left the ark, the ark that had kept them secure through the flood and landed them safe upon dry land some months back.  This was a day to celebrate the goodness of God, for God had certainly been good to Noah and to his family.

Back in Genesis 3:15 God had made a promise to send a Deliver to the earth and He would come through Noah, for all of the other people who were on the earth at the time of Noah were now gone.  This shows the faithfulness of God in keeping His promises and it also shows the judgment of God by judging rightly those were wicked.

These verses show that every one and everything that was on the ark left and God again said to be fruitful and multiply upon the earth for this was a new beginning, yet man is inherently evil, and without God intervening in the lives of man there could be no salvation for anyone, so evil would begin again upon the earth again, but God would never again send a flood to destroy all flesh again.

Spiritual meaning for my life today:  God does reward those who obey His Word and hold fast to His promises, and He will do the same for me, just as He did for Noah.

The Word of God has been challenging to my heart as I read and studied it this morning.

My Steps of Faith Today:  As God for the grace and mercy to obey His commands, to have Him direct my path, and to continue to teach me contentment.
