Repopulating The Earth

04/06/2006

SPIRITUAL DIARY

My Worship Time                  Focus:  Repopulating the earth

Bible Reading & Meditation             Reference:  Genesis 9:1,7

            Message of the verses:  “1 ¶  And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.’  7  ‘As for you, be fruitful and multiply; Populate the earth abundantly and multiply in it.’”

            After the flood, when Noah and his family came out of the ark, they were the only people to populate planet earth, and so it was similar to when Adam and Eve were on the earth and had it all to themselves.  God’s plan for Noah and his family was to repopulate the earth and in the case of Noah’s sons Shem would be the link to the fulfillment of the promise that God gave Eve in Genes 3:15:  ‘“And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel.’”

            Life in many ways was more important then than it is today with all of the children who die because of abortion, some 1,600,000 abortions each and every year, and God will someday judge our nation because of this.  To God all life is precious, and all life is important.

            Spiritual meaning for my life today:  I think that if I had it to do over again that I would want more children, but it is too late for that at this time, for I was probably thinking more of myself than anyone else and this was very wrong.

The Word of God brought much conviction to my heart as I read and studied it this morning.

My Steps of Faith Today:  Continue to as the Lord to direct my path, and to teach me contentment as I go along life’s path today.  Continue to trust the Lord to heal me after the surgery on Monday.

Memory verse for the week:  Philippians 2:14-16

14 ¶  Do all things without grumbling or disputing;

15  so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world,

16  holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain.
