He had Rebuked Them (Judges 6:7-10)

SPIRITUAL DIARY

My Worship Time                                        Focus:  He had rebuked them

Bible Reading & Meditation                        Reference:  Judges 6:7-10

Message of the verses:  “7 ¶  Now it came about when the sons of Israel cried to the LORD on account of Midian, 8  that the LORD sent a prophet to the sons of Israel, and he said to them, "Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, ‘It was I who brought you up from Egypt and brought you out from the house of slavery. 9  ‘I delivered you from the hands of the Egyptians and from the hands of all your oppressors, and dispossessed them before you and gave you their land, 10  and I said to you, "I am the ut you have not obeyed Me."’"”
The angel of tLORD your God; you shall not fear the gods of the Amorites in whose land you live. Bhe Lord came to the children of Israel back in the second chapter of Judges to give them this very same message that this prophet is not giving them.  (See Judges 2:1-5)  This message is given more than once in the OT, the message of how the Lord had brought the children of Israel out of bondage in the land of Israel, and had given them the land which they are now in.  (I want to say that the Canaanites that were living in the “Promised Land” of Israel were ripe for judgment because of their sin, and God had promised Abram that He would judge them because of their sin.  “16  ‘Then in the fourth generation they will return here, for the iniquity of the Amorite is not yet complete.’”  (Gen. 15:16)

Spiritual meaning for my life today:  God uses His Word to get my attention and if I don’t follow His Word then God will spiritually spank me because He loves me and wants me to become conformed into the image of His Son.  “For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son.”  (Romans 8:29)  “Until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.”  (Ephesians 4:16)

My Steps of Faith for Today:

  1. Get the stations on my cable fixed so that there are no obscene things on them.
