Faithful from 1 Tim. 1:12

SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR 2-18-02

My Worship Time                                                      Focus:  Faithful

Bible Reading & Meditation                         Reference:  1Timothy 1:12

Message of the verse:  Paul uses the words from verse eleven to go into the next point that he will make.  He spoke of the “glorious gospel” in verse eleven and now in these next few verses he will speak about his testimony to Timothy.  He starts of in verse twelve by speaking of faithfulness, and how God counted him faithful.  Paul gives thanks to God that He is the One who has enabled him to work in the ministry.  God is the One who calls men to be ministers of the gospel.  God is not only the One who calls them but also is the One who enables them to do the work involved in the ministry.  When God called Paul He counted him faithful to do what He called him to do.

Spiritual meaning for my life today:  The quality of “faithfulness” is a wonderful quality to have.  To have the reputation of keeping your word is something thats needed more in my life.  I am convicted about faithfulness and pray that God would enable me to be a faithful steward of all of the things that He has entrusted me with.

The Word of God brought conviction to me today.

My Steps of Faith Today:  To be faithful in all of the things that I say that I would do.  This means things like doing my devotions, and praying, and also trying to help out around the house.

Memory verse for the week:  1John 4:18:  There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment.  But he who fears has no been made perfect in love.
