Some Have Strayed from 1 Tim. 1:6-7

SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR 2-11-02

My Worship Time                                                      Focus:  Some have strayed

Bible Reading & Meditation                         Reference:1Timothy 1:6,7

Message of the verse:  Paul is saying in this verse that some of those in this Church have strayed from these commandments that were given here, and they were engaged in talking foolishly, not the truth.  I think from what I have learned about these people that they were probably not believers at all, but were quite possibly Juadizers.  Paul goes on in verse seven to say that these people had a desire to be teachers of the law, but they did not understand, nor could they affirm the things that they say.  In other words they did not know what they were talking about.

Spiritual meaning for my life today:  There are two things that I can think about today from looking at this passage.  The first one is that if I would teach something to someone I should know what it is that I am teaching and do it correctly.  Along this line to teach is a gift from God and a calling from Him to do so, not something to do to make one’s self feel better.  Also it can be seen in these verses that a person should check up on himself from time to time to make sure that he truly is in the faith.  I do not believe that these were whom Paul was speaking about.

The Word of God was challenging to me today.

My Steps of Faith Today:  I want to have the correct  motive for the things that I do today.  Perhaps the reason that I do not want to go and take mom to the doctors is that I am still having some problems in the areas of my bowels and also with things of the past too.

Memory verse for the week:  Deuteronomy 31:6  “Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you.  He will not leave you nor forsake you.”
