My
Worship Time Focus: The Glorious Gospel
Bible
Reading & Meditation Reference: 1Timothy 1:11
Message
of the verse: I believe that Paul is
continuing his point “that the law is not made for a righteous person but for
the lawless.” He made this point in
verse nine and continues it in the latter part of verse ten where he speaks
about sound doctrine, and now in verse eleven where he talks about the
“glorious gospel.” All of these things
are from God and are good for man for the Law shows man his need for a
salvation because he cannot keep it. Sound doctrine from God is needed to show
man how he needs to live and what he must believe. The Gospel is the answer to the biggest problem
that man has, and that is that he is separated from God because of sin. The gospel speaks of the God’s holiness,
which means that He hates sin, it speaks of His justice, which means that sin
must be punished, and it speaks of His grace.
Grace is God giving to man what he cannot earn of have without it being
given to him by God. The gospel is the good news for man that Jesus Christ has
satisfied the holiness and the wrath of God by dieing on the cross and being
punished for all
of mans sins that will ever happen.
Paul goes
on to say to Timothy that God has entrusted the gospel and the giving of it to
Paul. Paul will pass that on to Timothy
and men through out the history of the Church age will keep passing it on so
mankind will have access to the answer to his greatest problem.
Spiritual
meaning for my life today: This is
definitely a challenge to me to continue to pass on the good news of the
glorious gospel to those whom God will bring into my path. The good news of the gospel is the best news
that anyone could ever be told.
The Word of God has brought forth a challenge to me today.
My
Steps of Faith for Today: I
want to trust the Lord to work in my life with the fears that I face each
day. I pray that God would bless the
efforts that are going forth for our party tonight.
Memory verse for the week:
1John 4:18: There is no fear
in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect
love.
