My Worship Time Focus: Casting their crowns before the Lord
Bible Reading &
Meditation Reference: Revelations 4:9 -11
Message of the verse: “Whenever the living creatures give glory,
honour and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and
ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and
worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the
throne and say: ‘You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honour
and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and
have their being.’” (NIV)
In verse
ten there is a description of God the Father when it says of Him that He lives
forever and ever. The verse also tells
about four living creatures giving honour and thanks to God the Father the One
sitting on the throne. While this is
going on the twenty-four elders are falling at the feet of God the Father in
worship by casting their crowns before the throne and while they are doing this
they say “You are worthy, our
Lord and God, to receive glory and honour and power, for you created all
things, and by your will they were created and have their being.” This is the quote of the 11th
verse in this 4th chapter of Revelations and it is one of the most
meaningful verses in all of the Scriptures when it comes to real worship of
God. God is worthy to receive all glory
and honour and also power because He is the One who created all things and it
is because of His will that they were created and have their being. This verse is about worshiping God the Father
because of His wonderful act of creation.
Spiritual meaning for my life today: As I read this verse and others like it and
as I want to give honour and glory to the Lord there are far too many times
when I do not feel adequate in doing so, and yet I know that I have been bought
with a price and therefore I should glorify the One who has made all of this
happen. Just as in these verses
worshiping the Lord is a 24/7 experience and it should be the most important
thing that I do. I can worship the Lord
in all of the things that I do each and every day, things like doing my
devotions, and like whenever I am working I can do it all to the glory of the
Lord.
The Word of God was both refreshing and challenging, and
also convicting to my heart as I read and studied it this morning.
My Steps of Faith
Today: To remember the truth of
Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ; and
it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now
live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave
Himself up for me.”
Memory verse for the day:
Gal. 2:20 I have been crucified
with Christ and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the
life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who love
me and gave Himself up for me.
