My Worship Time Focus: No more tears
Bible Reading &
Meditation Reference: Revelations 7:16-17
Message of the verse: “16
They will never again be hungry or thirsty, and they will be fully
protected from the scorching noontime heat.
17 For the Lamb who stands in
front of the throne will be their Shepherd. He will lead them to the springs of
life-giving water. And God will wipe away all their tears.” (NLT)
I believe
that verse 16 is describing some of the awful things that had happened to this
group of believers while they were on the earth, as they were hungry and
thirsty, and because of the plagues that came upon the earth they had been
burned by the very hot son. And now in
verse 17 one of the twenty-four elders is telling John that no more of this
will happen to them for they will be led by the Lord Jesus Christ, who will be
their Shepherd, and He will lead them to the springs of life giving water and
then God will wipe away all of their tears.
It does seem that there will be a time in heaven when believers will
still cry, and perhaps it will be a time or remorse for the things that they
could have done for the Lord, but did not.
There will come a time in heaven when God will do as this verse says and
that is to wipe away every tear and then there will be no more crying.
Spiritual meaning for my life today: After the awful things that these believers
had to endure while upon the earth, suddenly they were transported to heaven
and everything was brand new and wonderful and perfect beyond imagination for
them and then came the promise that God would wipe away every tear. I realize that there have been far too many
times when I have failed the Lord while here on earth, but I hope that these
times will become fewer and more far between as I seek to do His will and live
for the cause of Christ.
The Word of God was both convicting and it was also a
delight to my soul as I read it this morning.
My Steps of Faith
Today: Trust that the Lord will give
me peace and provide enough people to pray during the morning services.
