Rule the Nations (Rev. 2:26-27)

SPIRITUAL DIARY FOR

03/05/2005

My Worship Time                  Focus:  Rule the Nations

Bible Reading & Meditation             Reference:  Revelations 2:26, 27

Message of the verse:  “He who overcomes, and he who keeps My deeds until the end, TO HIM I WILL GIVE AUTHORITY OVER THE NATIONS; AND HE SHALL RULE THEM WITH A ROD OF IRON, AS THE VESSELS OF THE POTTER ARE BROKEN TO PIECES, as I also have received authority from My Father;”  (NAS95)

To all who are victorious, who obey me to the very end, I will give authority over all the nations.  They will rule the nations with an iron rod and smash them like clay pots.”  (NLT)

As stated in earlier verses the “overcomers” are the ones who are true believers in Jesus Christ, who have been washed by the blood of the Lamb, who are born-again and have the privilege of calling the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ their Heavenly Father.  Jesus goes on to say that these overcomers who keep His deeds until the end will receive authority to rule the nations with a rod of iron, and this authority comes for God the Father.  Jesus may in fact be speaking of His Kingdom which will last on this earth for 1000 years, and He will rule from the throne of David in Jerusalem, and those who are part of His Church will be ruling with Him.  There will be instant discipline and just punishment during this wonderful time on the earth, and those who are overcomers will be a big part Christ’s rule.

Spiritual meaning for my life today:  As I look at and study what a future I have because of my relationship with Jesus Christ, it puts the things that I am going through now more into perspective, and even thought they are difficult there is coming a time when all the wrongs will be made right because sin will be done away with.

The Word of God was very uplifting to my heart as I read it this morning.

My Steps of Faith Today:  Trust the Lord to keep a guard over my lips when our friends come to visit us this afternoon.
