My Worship Time Focus: Jesus Christ
Bible Reading & Meditation Reference: Revelations 2:28, 29
Message of the verse: “and I will give him the morning star. “‘He who has an ear, let him hear what the
Spirit says to the churches.’”
(NAS95) “and with it, the Morning
Star! Are your ears awake? Listen.
Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches." (Message)
In
verse 28 Jesus tells this church that He
will give them the “Morning Star,” and in Re 22:16 Jesus had this to say about
that, “I, Jesus, sent my
Angel to testify to these things for the churches. I’m the Root and Branch of
David, the Bright Morning Star."
It can be learned from this the Jesus is the Morning Star, and that some
day in the future believers will have the Lord Jesus Christ more fully that at
this present time. As Scripture is
compared with other Scripture one can see this truth more clearly.
Verse
29 is the way that all of Christ’s last words to each church is given as He wants
those who are His to make sure that they continue to listen to the Spirit, and
that can be best done by staying in the Word each and every day.
Spiritual meaning for my life today: These two verses really tie into each other,
for as I listen to what the Spirit has to say to the church, then I am
listening to Christ and as I listen to Christ and put into practice what He has
to say to me then I am being more conformed to His image, so that I have more
of Him.
The Word of God was very
challenging to my heart as I read it this morning.
