SPIRITUAL DIARY
My Worship Time Focus: Farming
Bible Reading & Meditation Reference: Deut. 22:9-10
Message of the verses: “9
"You shall not sow your vineyard with two kinds of seed, or all the
produce of the seed which you have sown and the increase of the vineyard will
become defiled. 10 "You shall not
plow with an ox and a donkey together.”
While
studying the book of Leviticus I went over this law in chapter nineteen and
verse nineteen and so I will cut and paste what I wrote down there. “There is kind of a strange verse or two in
this section that commentators have difficulty with in knowing its
meaning. Verse nineteen speaks of not
breeding two kinds of cattle and also not sowing two kinds of seed in one’s
field. In Dr. Wiersbe’s commentary on
these verses he says that one of the reasons for doing this would be to show
that Israel
is to be a separated nation which is dedicated to the Lord and not the
practices of the nations around them. A
Hebrew scholar says that the part about the animals could mean that they were
not to be yoked with one another thus yoking them
unequally.”
Spiritual meaning for my life today: As a believe in Jesus Christ I am to be
separated from the world system and whatever I do I am to do to the glory of
the Lord as 1 Cor. 10:31 says. This is
something that is difficult to do, and so I need to pray over it and be led by
God’s Holy Spirit.
My Steps of Faith for
Today:
- Give myself to the Lord as Romans 12:1-2 speak of and thus not be conformed to the world system.
- Put on the spiritual armor: the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit.
- Learn contentment.
- Trust the Lord to guide my steps today.
- Be continually filled with the Holy Spirit.
Memory verses for the week: Ephesians
3:14-17
14. For
this reason I bow my knees before the Father,
15. from
whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its names,
16. that
He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened
with power through His Spirit in the inner man,
17. so
that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you may be rooted
and grounded in love,
