SPIRITUAL DIARY

My Worship Time                                        Focus:  Monthly offerings

Bible Reading & Meditation                        Reference:  Numbers 28:11-15

Message of the verses:  “11  ‘Then at the beginning of each of your months you shall present a burnt offering to the LORD: two bulls and one ram, seven male lambs one year old without defect; 12  and three-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering, for each bull; and two-tenths of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering, for the one ram; 13  and a tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering for each lamb, for a burnt offering of a soothing aroma, an offering by fire to the LORD.  14  ‘Their drink offerings shall be half a hin of wine for a bull and a third of a hin for the ram and a fourth of a hin for a lamb; this is the burnt offering of each month throughout the months of the year.  15  ‘And one male goat for a sin offering to the LORD; it shall be offered with its drink offering in addition to the continual burnt offering.”

These verses are new instruction for the priests and they were to follow them each month once they go into the land and conquer it.  All of the offerings, along with the daily offerings were to be given at the beginning of the month along with the sin offering of a male goat for the nation of Israel.  On the Day of Atonement there was an offering for sins too and so at the beginning of each month this goat would be offered to cover the sins of the nation of Israel.

Spiritual meaning for my life today:  I am thankful that I do not have to offer the offerings that the children of Israel had to continue to offer, as they were a picture of what Jesus Christ did on the cross to make atonement for my sins once for all.  I need to take inventory through the help of the Holy Spirit of any sins that I may commit during a day so that as 1John 1:9 says to confess my sins to the Lord.  I am so thankful for perfect payment that Jesus Christ made on my behalf for my sins.

My Steps of Faith for Today:

  1. Offer myself as a living sacrifice in service and worship to the Lord today.
  2. Put on the spiritual armor for protection against the invisible war that wages against believers.
  3. Seek to learn contentment.
  4. Seek to know God better each day.
