SPIRITUAL DIARY

My Worship Time                                        Focus:  The silver trumpets

Bible Reading & Meditation                        Reference:  Numbers 10:1-10

            Message of the verses:  “1 ¶  The LORD spoke further to Moses, saying, 2  "Make yourself two trumpets of silver, of hammered work you shall make them; and you shall use them for summoning the congregation and for having the camps set out.  3  "When both are blown, all the congregation shall gather themselves to you at the doorway of the tent of meeting.  4  "Yet if only one is blown, then the leaders, the heads of the divisions of Israel, shall assemble before you.  5  "But when you blow an alarm, the camps that are pitched on the east side shall set out.  6  "When you blow an alarm the second time, the camps that are pitched on the south side shall set out; an alarm is to be blown for them to set out.  7  "When convening the assembly, however, you shall blow without sounding an alarm.  8  "The priestly sons of Aaron, moreover, shall blow the trumpets; and this shall be for you a perpetual statute throughout your generations.  9  "When you go to war in your land against the adversary who attacks you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, that you may be remembered before the LORD your God, and be saved from your enemies.  10  "Also in the day of your gladness and in your appointed feasts, and on the first days of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; and they shall be as a reminder of you before your God. I am the LORD your God.”

            This section speaks of the two trumpets of silver that the Lord directed Moses to have made.  They were used for different reasons as described in this section of Scripture.  When both were blown the people should come to the tabernacle.  When one was blown only the leaders were to come to the tabernacle.  They were also used as an alarm and to begin the different ceremonies that were celebrated by the children of Israel.  The two trumpets were also to be used when Israel went into the Promised Land.

            As a believer in Jesus Christ I am waiting for the trumpet to be sounded that will call the bride of Christ, the Church to meet our Lord in the air, and this will also begin at terrible time on earth for all of the earth especially the nation of Israel for this will be the time of tribulation that will come upon the earth that will be finish the wrath of God and will bring about many people into a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, and it will also purge Israel, and at the end all Israel will be saved.

            Spiritual meaning for my life today:  I want to trust the Lord to guide my life as I wait upon that glorious sound of the trumpet that will call me home to be with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

My Steps of Faith for Today:

  1. Patiently wait for my Lord to come to the air outside the earth and to call me up to be with Him, so that I will be with Him for all eternity.

Memory verses for the week:                                              Romans 6:5-13

  1. For if we have been united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection,
  2. knowing this, that our old self has been crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin;
  3. for he who has died is freed from sin.
  4. Now if we have died with Christ we believe that we also shall live with Him,
  5. knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, is never to die again; death no longer is master over Him.
  6. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.
  7. Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
  8. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal bodies so that you obey its lusts,
  9. and do not go on presenting your members of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
