God’s character is extolled (Ex. 15:11-16a)

SPIRITUAL DIARY

My Worship Time           Focus:  God’s character is extolled

Bible Reading & Meditation               Reference:  Exodus 15:11-16a

Message of the verses:  “11  "Who is like You among the gods, O LORD? Who is like You, majestic in holiness, Awesome in praises, working wonders?  12  "You stretched out Your right hand, The earth swallowed them.  13  "In Your lovingkindness You have led the people whom You have redeemed; In Your strength You have guided them to Your holy habitation.  14  "The peoples have heard, they tremble; Anguish has gripped the inhabitants of Philistia.  15  "Then the chiefs of Edom were dismayed; The leaders of Moab, trembling grips them; All the inhabitants of Canaan have melted away.  16  "Terror and dread fall upon them; By the greatness of Your arm they are motionless as stone.”

In verse eleven there is a question asked, two questions in fact and the answer to both questions is no one!

“This stanza goes on to praise God for His power (v 12), His mercy to deliver, His wisdom to guide (v-13), and the awesomeness of His person to bring fear to the hearts of His enemies (v-14).”  It is good to remember that most of chapter is a song that was sung to the Lord after delivering Israel through the dried up sea bed and then drowning Egypt in the sea.

Spiritual meaning for my life today:  These are wonderful verses to praise the Lord for who He is when I begin my prayer time.

My Steps of Faith for Today:  Trust the Lord with the journey that I am about to embark on this morning, that He will guide Sandy and I as we travel up to Canada to visit Ann and Jack and then Andrew on Thursday.  I want to yoke up with the Lord today.  I want to continue to learn contentment as I go through the trials of life.  I want to have victory over a troublesome temptation.

Memory verses for the week:                      Matthew 11:28-30

28. 28  "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.

29  "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.

30  "For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."
