SPIRITUAL DIARY

My Worship Time           Focus: God’s judgment executed

Bible Reading & Meditation               Reference:  Exodus 12:12-13

Message of the verses:  12  “For I will go through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments—I am the LORD. 13  ‘The blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you live; and when I see the blood I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.”

In these two verses God tells Israel through Moses that He will execute His judgment against the firstborn of Egypt and that Israel will be protected under the blood of the lamb.  This judgment is against the god’s of Egypt, which of course are the false gods that the Egyptians worshiped.

Spiritual meaning for my life today:  It is an awesome thing to be protected by the blood of the Lamb, as this surely pictured the Lord Jesus Christ who shed His blood so that the plague against sin was taken out on Him instead of on me.  I will ever be thankful to the Lord for His perfect sacrifice for me, for His love, grace and mercy He has bestowed on me through His sacrifice on my behalf.

My Steps of Faith for Today:  That I would be yoked up with the Lord Jesus Christ, that I would continue to learn contentment, and that I would also continue to trust the Lord through the trials that He has and is sending my way.
