Things To Remember (Exodus 10:1-2)

SPIRITUAL DIARY

My Worship Time           Focus:  Things to remember

Bible Reading & Meditation               Reference:  Exodus 10:1-2

Message of the verses:  1 ¶  Then the LORD said to Moses, "Go to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart and the heart of his servants, that I may perform these signs of Mine among them, 2  and that you may tell in the hearing of your son, and of your grandson, how I made a mockery of the Egyptians and how I performed My signs among them, that you may know that I am the LORD.”

I believe that one thing that needs to be remembered here is that the plagues that were sent upon Egypt by the Lord were to punish them for the way that they were living.  God had told Abraham in Genesis 15:13-15 &16 that his descendents were going to go down to Egypt and live there for four hundred years and that they would be mistreated by the Egyptians and then God tells Abraham this: “13  God said to Abram, "Know for certain that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, where they will be enslaved and oppressed four hundred years.

14  "But I will also judge the nation whom they will serve, and afterward they will come out with many possessions. 15.  Then in the fourth generation they will return here, for the iniquity of the Amorite is not yet complete."  This is an amazing verse to me for it tells me that God does not bring judgment upon a nation until the iniquity of the nation is complete.  The iniquity of both the Egyptians and the Amorites were complete at the time of Moses and God was going to punish both of them.

God tells Moses that He has hardened the heart of Pharaoh and his servants in order to bring more judgment upon them, and then He goes on to say that the coming generations of Israel will be able to look back upon these plagues that God did to Egypt in order to realize that God is indeed who He says He is.

Spiritual meaning for my life today:  God has told Moses to remember the things He did to Egypt in order for future generations to know that He is LORD.  It is good to write down, in order to remember, the things that God has done in my life so that I too can pass this down to my future family member so that they may gain faith in the Lord knowing that He is truly LORD.

My Steps of Faith for Today:  I want to yoke up with the Lord today and lay my problems on Him.

Memory verses for the week:                                  Philippians 3:7-8

  1. But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ.
  2. More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I gain Christ.
