SPIRITUAL DIARY
My Worship Time Focus: God cares for us
Bible Reading & Meditation Reference: Deut. 8:4; 29:5
Message of the verses: “4 “Your clothing did not wear out on you,
nor did your foot swell these forty years.
“5
“I have led you forty years in the wilderness; your clothes have not worn out
on you, and your sandal has not worn out on your foot.”
Moses
reminds the children of Israel that it was the Lord who had not only feed them
with the manna for forty years, but that it was also the Lord who had made sure
that their clothes did not wear out or their sandals did not wear out either
for those forty years that they journeyed in the wilderness. God took care of them all of the way.
Spiritual meaning for my life today: Warren Wiersbe reminds me of George Mueller
who headed up a orphanage in England
and he and the children who lived their prayed everyday for food and even
though they did not tell others of their needs the Lord provided food for them
as an answer to their prayers. I am sure
that there are other incidents like this that are not recorded but do take
place. I also remember reading a book by
Cory Ten Boon telling how a medicine bottle never ran dry while she and her
sister were in a German prison during WWII.
God
gave me abilities to work and provide for my family and for me and has provided
food for us to eat and a wonderful house for us to live in for the past
thirty-two years and in my heart I knew that this was all done for us through
the Lord, yet I did not thank Him for all of this as I should have and this was
wrong. I now know that God is the One
who has supplied all of our needs even when all of our investment was stolen
from us six years ago. God has provided
a number of jobs for me to work at and provided money for us to purchase a car
for Sandy when we needed one, and even now has provided funds to help pay off
our house that we live in and I am very thankful for all of these things that
the Lord has provided for us.
The
one thing that I am the most thankful for is God providing salvation for
everyone of our family, what a blessing that is to know that our sins are
forgiven and that we can worship the Lord knowing that He will accept our
worship and that one day we will be with the Lord forevermore.
My Steps of Faith for Today:
- Trust the Lord to guide my path today.
- Give myself to the Lord for worship and service.
- Continue to learn contentment.
- I want to obey the Lord because of the love I have for Him.
Memory verses for the week: Ephesians
1:5-8
- He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will,
- to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.
- In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace
- which He lavished on us. In all wisdom and insight
