SPIRITUAL DAIRY
My Worship Time Focus: The high priest prepares
Bible Reading & Meditation Reference: Leviticus 16:3-5
Message of the verses: “3
Thus shall Aaron come into the holy place: with a young bullock for a
sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering.
4 He shall put on the holy linen
coat, and he shall have the linen breeches upon his flesh, and shall be girded
with a linen girdle, and with the linen mitre shall he be attired: these are
holy garments; therefore shall he wash his flesh in water, and so put them on.
“5
¶ And he shall take of the congregation
of the children of Israel two kids of the goats for a sin offering, and one ram
for a burnt offering.”
The
sacrifices that the priest would offer had to be brought to the tabernacle door
where they would later be sacrificed, but first they had to be examined in
order to make sure there were no defects in them. The high priest would take off his glorious
attire and put on the clothes of a priest in order to offer the sacrifices, a
sin offering for him and his family along with a burnt offering. He would go to the laver to was himself to
assure he was clean. Taking off the
glorious clothes was a picture of humiliation and washing at the laver was an
act of sanctification.
Jesus
Christ left His glorious home heaven to come to earth to serve the people, He
laid aside His glory in order to become a man, born as a poor baby. Jesus Christ humbled Himself by dying on a
cross and then went back to heaven and “dressed Himself” once again in the
glory that is righteousness (John 17:1, 5).
Spiritual meaning for my life today: I think of Jesus Christ leaving His home in
heaven to become a man in order to die for me on the cross causes me to be
thankful for what He did for me that He did not have to do, but chose to do so
that I could become a child of God.
Halleluiah What A Savior!
My Steps of Faith for Today:
- I am thankful for the free gift of salvation that was provided for me by my Savior and Lord.
Memory verses for the week: Exodus 20:8-13
- Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
- Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
- but the seventh day is a Sabbath of the Lord your God; in it you shall not do any work, you or your son our your daughter, your male or female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who stays with you.
- For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
- Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the Lord your God gives you.
- You shall not murder.
