Sin Isolates (Lev. 13:46)

9/16/2008 7:46 AM

My Worship Time                              Focus:  Sin isolates

Bible Reading & Meditation               Reference:  Lev. 13:46

Message of the verses:  “46  "He shall remain unclean all the days during which he has the infection; he is unclean. He shall live alone; his dwelling shall be outside the camp.”

This verse was written for those who would have leprosy and as long as they never received a healing for this disease they would remain outside the camp alone and would never be able to come back into camp again.

When one looks as this disease of leprosy and compares it to sin the affects are remarkably similar and when one looks at the results of having this disease they end up outside of the camp really by themselves.  This is what will happen to a person who does not accept the forgiveness, or the healing of this thing called sin, which is already provided for them through the death and burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Hell is a real place where one will be isolated and tormented forever and that is a sober thought.  It is difficult for me to understand how a person can be told the truth about their sinful condition, which they were born into, and the forgiveness that is theirs for them to have and not believe the truth.  Sandy and I have relatives who are like that and so we continue to pray for them daily hoping that the Holy Spirit will open their hearts so they can understand the truth.

Spiritual meaning for my life today:  I want to continue to remember the reality of hell so that I can continue to pray for those that are lost and on my heart and to be ready to tell others that God brings onto my path so that they too can hear the best story in all of the world:  The Gospel!

My Steps of Faith for Today

  1. Continue to pray for Sandy’s parents and her sister and brother-in-law.
  2. Trust the Lord to guide my path today and give me the grace I need to see me through this day.
  3. Put on the spiritual armor.
  4. Give myself to the Lord for service and worship.

Memory verses for the week:                                  Exodus 20:8-11

  1. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
  2. Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
  3. but the seventh day is a Sabbath of the Lord your God; in it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male or female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who stays with you.
  4. For in six days the Lord make the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
