SPIRITUAL DIARY
My Worship Time Focus: Laws concerning fowls
Bible Reading & Meditation Reference: Leviticus 11:13-19
Message of the verses: “13
‘These, moreover, you shall detest among the birds; they are abhorrent,
not to be eaten: the eagle and the vulture and the buzzard, 14 and the kite and the falcon in its kind,
15 every raven in its kind, 16 and the ostrich and the owl and the sea gull
and the hawk in its kind, 17 and the
little owl and the cormorant and the great owl, 18 and the white owl and the pelican and the
carrion vulture, 19 and the stork, the
heron in its kinds, and the hoopoe, and the bat.
I
do not know much about these birds except to say that some of them God put on
the earth to clean up dead animals so that the earth would not have them lying
around to pollute the earth. God’s
people were not to even touch dead animals that were unclean otherwise they
would be unclean themselves. This is
true with the creatures of the water, for God put those bottom feeder on the
earth to clean up after the clean eating creatures of the earth.
Spiritual meaning for my life today: I can see in all of this that God has a plan
for everything that He does, and a reason for creating everything that He has
created and it is no wonder that I look back at the creation week that at the
end of each day God said “it is good,” with the exception of the day that He
created man when He said “it is very good.”
My Steps of Faith for Today:
- Give myself to the Lord for worship and service.
- Put on the whole armor of God.
- Seek the Lord to continue to do things that will teach me contentment.
- Trust the Lord to guide my path.
Memory verses for the week: Exodus 20:4-9
- You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth.
- You shall not worship them or serve them; for the Lord your God is a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children on the third and forth generation of those who Me,
- but showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love me and keep my commandments.
- You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.
- Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
- Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
