SPIRITUAL DIARY
My Worship Time Focus: Natural male discharges
Bible Reading & Meditation Reference: Lev.15:16-18
Message of the verses: “16
"Whenever a man has an emission of semen, he must wash his entire
body, and he will remain ceremonially defiled until evening. 17 Any
clothing or leather that comes in contact with the semen must be washed, and it
will remain defiled until evening.
18 After having sexual
intercourse, both the man and the woman must bathe, and they will remain
defiled until evening.”
First
off in writing on these verses I would like to point out that when a man and a
woman are married and have sexual intercourse there is noting wrong with that,
for God designed men and women to have sexual intercourse after marriage. The problem is the sin nature, and sin, for
it has made something beautiful that was designed by God and made it out to be
something that can turn into something sinful.
Porn is something sinful that comes out of what God designed to be a
blessing to married couples and it is a huge business world wide. The writers to the Hebrews writes this: “4
Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be
undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.” This sums up what I am trying to say about
this subject.
This
law states that a man has to keep himself clean and if semen gets on him or his
clothing he must wash himself and will be ceremonially
unclean until evening. It is
good to be reminded that in Jewish culture the new day begins at 5:00 PM and
not at midnight like in most cultures.
Dr.
Wiersbe writes, “Perhaps the Lord is telling us that, even in a beautiful
experience like married love, there is opportunity for our sinful nature to go
to work and defile it.”
Spiritual meaning for my life today: It is a good reminder to me that I am to keep myself clean before during and after
relations with my wife.
My Steps of Faith for Today:
- Ask the Holy Spirit to search my heart for unconfessed sin.
- Trust the Lord to guide my path today.
- Give myself to the Lord for service and worship today.
- Put on my spiritual armor for the battle today.
- Trust the Lord to teach me, and that I may learn from His teaching to be content.
Memory verses for the week: Exodus 20:8-12
- Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
- Six day you shall labor and do all your work,
- but the seventh day is a Sabbath of the Lord, in it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male or female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who stays with you.
- For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day, therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
- Honor your father and mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land that the Lord your God gives you.
