God Designs teh Plan (Ex. 25:9, 40 & 26:30)

My Worship Time           Focus:  God designs the plan

Bible Reading & Meditation     References:  Exodus 25:9, 40; 26:30

Message of the verses:  “9  "According to all that I am going to show you, as the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furniture, just so you shall construct it.”

“40  "See that you make them after the pattern for them, which was shown to you on the mountain.”

“30  "Then you shall erect the tabernacle according to its plan which you have been shown in the mountain.”

In the verses above it can be seen that God had a plan for the tabernacle that was given to Moses while he was on the mountain.  Other plans of God can be seen throughout the Scriptures.  God put it in the heart of David all of the details of the Temple of God that his son was to build.  “All this," said David, "the LORD made me understand in writing by His hand upon me, all the details of this pattern.”  The “all this” is all that has to do with the building of the Temple of God as seen in the previous verses.

It can be safe to say that God does not do anything that He does without a plan, and His plans are always perfect because He is perfect.  God has a plan for each individual believer, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.”  (Eph. 2:10)

This tabernacle that God told Moses to build was a copy of the one which is in heaven that Jesus Christ is ministering from at this time.  “1 ¶  Now the main point in what has been said is this: we have such a high priest, who has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, 2  a minister in the sanctuary and in the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, not man.  3  For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices; so it is necessary that this high priest also have something to offer.  4  Now if He were on earth, He would not be a priest at all, since there are those who offer the gifts according to the Law; 5  who serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly things, just as Moses was warned by God when he was about to erect the tabernacle; for, ‘SEE,’ He says, ‘THAT YOU MAKE all things ACCORDING TO THE PATTERN WHICH WAS SHOWN YOU ON THE MOUNTAIN.’”  (Hebrews 8:1-5)  I want to say one thing at this point in this SD, and that is that I believe that the Bible teaches that the Lord Jesus Christ is also a picture of the tabernacle, that is each of the articles that are in it and once I remember having a conversation with Pastor Jacobs about the passage in one of the gospels that spoke of Jesus saying to Mary that she should not cling to Him because He had not yet ascended to His Father.  I told him that I had been taught from a passage in Hebrews that Jesus had to go to heaven and put some of His blood on the altar that was there and I believe that He told me that there was not any in heaven.  My understanding was that Jesus Christ was the picture of the Tabernacle in heaven, but I think now that there truly is one in heaven and that the Lord Jesus Christ represents all that it means.  The reason that I now believe that there is one in heaven is because the book of Revelations describes much of it in different places of it.  (Rev. 6:9-11; 8:3-5; 4:2, 4-7)

Spiritual meaning for my life today:  Amidst all of the testing, temptations, and difficult times that Sandy and I are going through it is a blessing to me to understand that God has a plan for us, that He does not do anything without a plan, and that we can trust Him, and we can trust His plan for us, for He has promised that I will never leave you nor forsake you.  Ephesians 2:10 shows me that God indeed has a plan for my life.

My Steps of Faith for Today:

  1. Trust that God has a plan for me and that He will direct my path.

Memory verses for the week:                      Exodus 20:1-3

  1. Then God spoke all these things saying,
  2. “I am the Lord Your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
  3. “You shall have no other gods before me.”
