The Priest Must Be Washed (Ex. 29:4; Lev. 8:6)

My Worship Time           Focus:  Priests must be consecrated to God

                                                              The priests were washed

Bible Reading & Meditation               Reference:  Exodus 29:4; Lev. 8:6

Message of the verses:  “4  "Then you shall bring Aaron and his sons to the doorway of the tent of meeting and wash them with water.

“6  Then Moses had Aaron and his sons come near and washed them with water.”

This forth section from Warren Wiersbe’s book on Exodus give the seven steps that Aaron and his sons went through in order to be consecrated to God.  The first step was to be washed, but this only happened one time as far as having a whole bath, afterwards they only needed to wash their hands and their feet.  Sin is pictured as dirt in the Scriptures on different occasions and that is why Aaron and his sons were washed before they were consecrated to the Lord.

After Jesus washed the disciples feet He told them that they only needed to have their feet washed because they were all clean with the exception of Judas.

Spiritual meaning for my life today:  As a born-again believer in Jesus Christ I have been cleansed from sin and because I still sin I need to confess my sins to the Lord, which symbolizes having my feed washed.

My Steps of Faith for Today:

1.  I have left all of my burdens at the feet of the Lord this evening in my prayers that I had with my wife and just as Jesus spoke in Matthew 11: 28  "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.  29  "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.  30  "For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."
